Lions Mane Mushroom Steaks
Ingredients
- Lions Mane Mushroom
- Olive Oil
- Sage and Onion Spice Mix (Wicked Kitchen brand used)
Instructions
Sear the Mushroom:
- Heat a cast iron pan over medium-high heat.
- Add a little bit of olive oil to the pan.
- Place the thick-cut Lions Mane mushroom in the pan. (Do not press down too hard.)
- Rest a second cast iron pan on top of the mushroom to lightly press it.
- Sear for a couple of minutes until a gorgeous golden brown color is achieved.
- Wipe the bottom of the top pan with a towel to remove moisture.
- Flip the mushroom and press the other side with the pan for another minute or two, until seared well.
Season the Mushroom:
- Add a little more olive oil to the pan, enough to allow herbs and spices to stick to the mushroom.
- Sprinkle Sage and Onion spice mix (Wicked Kitchen brand used) on both sides of the mushroom. (No salt or pepper added.)
- Pat the spices into the mushroom.
Bake the Mushroom:
- Place the cast iron pan with the mushroom in a preheated oven at 200 degrees for 5 minutes to heat it up.
Slice and Serve:
- Remove the mushroom from the oven.
- Slice the mushroom and serve immediately.
