Quick BBQ Tofu Sandwich

Ingredients

  • 350 g Extra super firm tofu, cut into 4 slices
  • 2 soft squishy buns
  • Olive oil
  • Vegan Butter
  • ½ red onion, sliced
  • 1 tomato, sliced
  • Vegan mayo
  • BBQ sauce
  • 2-3 Tablespoons BBQ BEAST seasoning
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Lettuce

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Buns:

    • Slice the buns.
    • Add olive oil and a little bit of vegan butter to a pan.
    • Grill the buns.
  2. Prepare the Tofu:

    • Slice the tofu block into four slices, removing the ends.
    • Place olive oil in the pan.
    • Add the tofu slices to the pan.
    • Add the sliced onions to the pan, placing them on top of the tofu if you don't want them to burn too much.
    • Add sliced tomatoes to the pan.
    • Add salt and pepper.
  3. Assemble the Sandwich:

    • Spread vegan mayo on the bottom bun.
    • Add barbecue sauce.
    • Add the cooked onions and tofu to a bowl.
    • Add 2-3 tablespoons of BBQ Beast seasoning to the tofu and onions, coating them well.
    • Add the seasoned tofu and onions to the bun.
    • Add hot tomatoes.
    • Add lettuce.
    • Add more barbecue sauce.
    • Place the top bun on the sandwich.
